MMJ have been appointed as agent’s for a piece of history in the Northern Suburbs of Wollongong, the Bulli Court House & Police Station. The historic landmark will go under the hammer next month. Built in the early 1900’s and housing hundreds of criminals over the past century, the building still houses the original holding cells. The property was upgraded in the early 1970’s and converted the local police station until around 5 years ago.
“The building can’t be knocked down under the heritage order, but could definitely be given a little bit of love and be made better than it is now.” Says agent Travis Machan.
Aldi currently owns the site, however, its plans for a supermarket on the highway were knocked back by Council and it now plans to sell the lot. There are plenty of opportunities under the current uses including professional offices or a restaurant.
MMJ Wollongong are hopeful that the unique characteristics of the property will close the deal with the site going to auction on the 5th May 2012.
