Town Planning Experience

Since joining MMJ’s Town Planning Division in 2003, Luke quickly gained experience in the NSW planning system, at both State and Local levels. Luke works closely with many developers, consultants, Councils, State Agencies and the like on a daily basis throughout NSW. Previously a building estimator, his knowledge in construction aided a quick understanding of the planning industry, which was assisted by his studies and qualifications through The University of New England (Bachelor of Urban & Regional Planning).

This experience and education has helped direct the Company’s Town Planning services to its clients. Luke’s general services as a Town Planning consultant to date have included:

  • The preparation, lodgement and negotiation of - Development Applications and Land Rezoning Applications (Planning Proposals);
  • Project coordination and management;
  • Site planning assessment and development advice;
  • Master planning and major projects;
  • Urban design and environmental reviews;
  • Planning studies and policies; and
  • Issues resolutions and consultation with all development stakeholders.

Luke has accommodated solutions for many local, national and international clients, all of who have come to rely on his planning and development advice. Some notable developments / proposals within NSW in the last few years in which Luke has played an integral role have been:-

  • A proposed 117 lot residential land subdivision development at Horsley;
  • Recently constructed Hungry Jacks restaurants at Haywards Bay and Engadine;
  • An approved 53 lot integrated villa housing development at Warilla;
  • The development of Edgewood Estate at Woonona, which is  a 40 hectare residential estate comprising almost 700 homes;
  • An approved tourist facility at Shellharbour City Centre, incorporating retail / commercial units, together with 67 serviced apartments;
  • An approved 23 multi-dwelling residential development at Berkeley; and
  • Numerous fuel infrastructure upgrades / replacements within Shell service station sites throughout NSW.
