Experience

Jessica has a broad knowledge and understanding of the NSW Planning System working in both planning consultancy initially, and then in local government for 10 years. Her experience in local government has involved significant exposure to urban release area planning in both the development assessment and strategic planning stages.  Jessica was involved in a team of professionals tasked with preparing the Planning Framework for the Moss Vale Road South and Moss Vale Road North Urban Release Areas which has now commenced development in Shoalhaven.

Prior to moving to MMJ, Jessica worked in the Social Infrastructure Planning team at Shoalhaven City Council and was responsible for looking after a team of social infrastructure and social planners who were involved in the planning, design and delivery of social infrastructure (parks, playgrounds and sportsgrounds) in Shoalhaven.  The role also involved preparation of Plans of Management for Council Managed Crown Land following reforms introduced in 2018, a significant task for Council as it moved over 100 Crown Reserves into Plans of Management so that they could be managed as if they were Council-owned land under the Local Government Act 1993.

One of Jessica’s passions is ensuring development outcomes that enable ageing in place. This passion stemmed from writing her thesis in 2014 on Seniors Playgrounds, which involved reviewing international examples of seniors playgrounds, understanding their composition and benefits, and established planning principles and considerations based on current practice, for the ongoing delivery of more seniors playground infrastructure.

Jessica is looking forward to using her experience and interests to establish positive relationships and together achieve positive development outcomes with existing and new MMJ clients.
