In the centre of the suburb, you will find Corrimal RSL Memorial Club, Corrimal Bowling Club, and The Corrimal Hotel, two places to enjoy live music, TV sports, and food and drink. Situated right on the beach, Corrimal Tourist Park is also a popular holiday destination.

Each year on the second Sunday in September Corrimal hosts the renowned ‘Spring Into Corrimal’ family festival, where the main streets are closed to cater for the tens of thousands of people crowding the market stalls, parades, performances, contests, and other fun activities.

Sport

Training in Memorial Park, Corrimal Rangers Football Club has been running for decades. Corrimal also hosts the Corrimal Cougars Cricket Club and Corrimal Cougars Rugby League Football Club training in Ziems Park.

Schools

Corrimal Public School is the local primary school located in the centre of the suburb, right across the road from St Columbkille's Catholic Parish Primary School, Corrimal's local Roman Catholic school. Further towards the coast you will also find Corrimal High school, and in the escarpment sits Aspect South Coast, for children with autism.

In the surrounding suburbs of Wollongong there are several other preschools, public and private, primary, high, and special education schools.

Parks

Within Corrimal, you’ll find dozens of family-friendly parks and playground perfect for children, or just to relax in. There are also two monumental memorial parks near the centre, notorious for their delightful serenity.

Water

The south of Corrimal beach is great for families and individuals to enjoy a walk along the sand or a swim in the waves or nearby rockpools. To the north the beach becomes dog-friendly, making it a popular spot for people to bring their pets. Living in Corrimal also provides you with a choice of beaches that are only a short drive away in Fairy Meadow, Towradgi or further north or south along Australia’s beautiful east coast.

Transport

Corrimal railway station is walking distance from the suburb’s centre, connecting residents to the Illawarra railway line which travels up and down the east coast with an express service that travels directly to Sydney. Corrimal also has several bus services passing through it that mean you can travel to and from Wollongong CBD in a matter of minutes.

The ice cream manufacturer ‘Streets’ was founded in Corrimal in the 1930s.
