Electric Vehicles in Strata - Phase 1 EV Challenges Report

In response to the growing demand for electric vehicles (EVs) in Australia, SCA has conducted an investigation into the challenges faced when integrating EVs into strata complexes, such as apartments and townhouses.

This report, the first of two, aims to assess the progress made by each jurisdiction in Australia in advancing policies supporting the integration of EVs into strata. The goal is to establish a baseline for future discussions with decision-makers, members, and stakeholders.

SCA is the pioneer organisation in examining the current support for strata and identifying the various issues resulting from EV integration.

By analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of each jurisdiction's EV strategy concerning strata, we hope to drive the necessary changes to ensure adequate support for one of Australia's largest residential markets.

Electric Vehicles in Strata - Phase 2 EV Challenges Report

The second report in this series, the Electric Vehicles in Strata Phase 2: Challenges report, addresses the significant challenges that the strata industry will face with the mass integration of EVs into strata complexes as demand continues to rise.

Purpose of the Electric Vehicles in Strata Phase 2: Challenges Report

This groundbreaking report offers a comprehensive analysis of the specific issues arising from the mass integration of EVs into strata complexes. As no existing resource covers this topic, it is essential for government, key stakeholders, and SCA members to access this information while grappling with the challenges of EV integration.

This report is the second of two released by SCA, as it is crucial to understand the current consideration of these issues at a state level, as well as the challenges it will present.

National Electric Vehicle Strategy

Developed in consultation with industry groups, including SCA, the National Electric Vehicle Strategy incorporates vital plans and provisions to include multi-unit dwellings in the federal government's electric vehicle strategy.

The strategy sets a vision to increase the uptake of electric vehicles (EVs) to reduce emissions and enhance the wellbeing of Australians. It outlines three key objectives:

  1. Increase the supply of affordable and accessible EVs.

  2. Establish the necessary resources, systems, and infrastructure to facilitate rapid EV uptake.

  3. Encourage higher demand for EVs.
